Materials: Shifting to more preferred materials.

Our stated goal is for all Craft products to be made from more preferred materials and more sustainable production methods by 2027. That's why we started phasing out virgin polyester in favor of recycled fibers from PET bottles back in 2016.

Craft's KPIs for materials

01: All products made from more preferred materials and more sustainable production methods by 2027

02: Joint strategic plans with suppliers for responsible water and chemical management by 2024

03: Ongoing evaluation of new technologies and innovative fabrics

Supplier Mapping.

Going forward, our goal is to consolidate our supplier base and the materials we use. This is a process that takes time, as quality standards and certificates need to be met, tested and evaluated before final approval. In 2023, we continued our work to map and categorize the materials already in use, in order to create a deeper commitment to progress together with our largest suppliers. As a result, we have established climate roadmaps with our five largest fabric suppliers and 10 of our largest apparel manufacturers. Our ultimate goal is to create products that are circular by design. This means that our products should be designed so that they can be reused, repaired and, at the end of their life cycle, recycled into new materials or products. To achieve this, we focus on consolidating the materials we use, in particular by exploring the use of mono-materials. By minimizing the number of different fibers or materials in our products, we want to ensure that they are prepared for effective recycling once comprehensive recycling processes are in place.

01 - Purpose

We design for the long term for a simple reason: The longer a product delivers what it promises, the lower its environmental impact.

02 - Design

We design for the long term for a simple reason: The longer a product delivers what it promises, the lower its environmental impact.

03 - Materials

A preferred material should not only be made to last. It should also be traceable and have a verifiable climate footprint.

04 - Production

Responsibly made for the way forward. Since 80% of a garment's environmental impact is generated in the production phase, focusing on the supply chain can yield big results.

05 - Packaging

Going beyond plastic. To minimize the long-term effects of everything that protects our products during their journey to our customers, we are making a conscious effort to transition to more sustainable packaging solutions and materials.

06 - Logistics

Choosing more sustainable paths. Our long-term goal is to minimize greenhouse gas emissions from our daily operations, to achieve the goal of 1.5°C global warming in line with the Paris Agreement.
